The APSE seminar 2015 brings together speakers from facilities management, catering and cleaning and the organisations that impact on them to chart the future and highlight some of the many challenges facing service providers.
Debra Adams, Head of Professional Development at arena4finance, will be hosting a workshop focused on controlling food costs in public sector catering at the APSE Facilities Management seminar 2015 at 3.30pm on Thursday 29th January 2015 at the Crowne Plaza Chester.
With the continuation of the rise in food costs and its consequent financial impact on expenditure and profitability, it is vital that food costs are controlled in order to be successful as a business and even more so for schools as a result of the constant squeeze on funds and the introduction of new mandatory standards.
With this in mind, the workshop will cover topics from purchasing, inventory management and menu planning to waste management, menu costing and optimising labour productivity and delegates will leave with a greater understanding of how to control food costs and consequently manage menu pricing and gross profit.
This 2 day event, entitled ‘leading from the front’, is crafted by APSE to give delegates the opportunity to refresh their knowledge, learn new skills and give practical advice on implementing some exciting new ideas back in the workplace.
