Debra Adams – CEO and Founder, arena4finance

A Chartered Management Accountant and a leading practitioner in developing courses for improving financial know how and commercial acumen in the service sectors. She is the author of the highly acclaimed textbook 'Strategic Management Accounting for the Hospitality, Tourism and Leisure Industries' now available here in 2nd edition. The third edition is to be published by Goodfellow Publishing in 2022.

Debra is a well-known personality in the hospitality sector having worked with numerous companies across the sector.

She holds a number of senior roles including Trustee and Member of the Supervisory Board for the Institute of Hospitality. She was formerly Head of Professional Development at HOSPA for a number of years and previously a Council member of the British Association of Hospitality Accountants.

Debra leads a team of experts who can design and deliver courses and training to meet a range of professional development needs for all those seeking to learn more about hotel accounting practice.

Paul Nisbett - Finance Director, Valor Hospitality Europe Limited

Paul Nisbett is a high-performing senior hotel executive with over 20 years in the industry and a proven track record in the management and construction of financial services. Paul is currently the Finance Director of Valor Hospitality Europe, which manages hotels on behalf of Hilton, Marriott and IHG.

Paul previously held roles as CFO of the Hotel Collection from April 2012 till February 2015, and was appointed as acting CEO to manage the group’s transition from Barceló to Puma Hotels Collection. Whilst in this role, Paul was instrumental in establishing a focused entrepreneurial management team and repositioned the Hotel Collection as a leading four-star provincial hotel company.

Prior to joining the Hotel Collection, Paul spent four years at Principal Hayley Hotels, initially as Chief Operating Officer and then as Special Projects Director. This was preceded by five years as Commercial and Finance Director at Malmaison and Hotel Du Vin Hotels where he developed a six hotel, £150m business into a 28 hotel, £500m business in five years.

Paul’s earlier career included positions with Le Méridien Hotels, Forte and Hilton.
