Who is this course for?
Ideal for
aspiring hospitality leaders of the future, this course is held online over a
period of six weeks using our online learning management tools. The topics are
studied in depth with examples, illustrations and discussions to provide
participants with a deep understanding of the managerial accounts.

Module 1: Welcome and Induction Activities
Module 2: A detailed review of the Income and Expenditure report in full and by department
Module 3: Balance sheet and Cash Flow Management including Assets, Liabilities and Working Capital
Module 4: Benchmarking and KPI's to monitor revenue, costs and profitability
Module 5: Budgeting and Forecasting to improve revenue and bottom line results

The Outcome
On completion of this course you will gain:
1. The skills to interpret the reports and language used in hospitality management accounts
2. The know how to interpret business data to make strategic decisions
3. The knowledge to be able to interpret business reports using a range of KPI's and benchmarks
4. The skills to build forecasts to improve revenue and profitability
This course is ideal for Heads of Department in the hospitality industry keen to develop and prepare for senior leadership roles where a knowledge of managerial finance will be essential.
Course Delivery
This course is delivered online over 6 weeks (including induction) where you will be guided on a weekly basis by your course tutor. Activities will include weekly modules, quizzes, webinars and discussions. You will need to allocate approximately 6 hours per week to the online learning.

Debra has been involved with the hospitality industry for almost 30 years and has delivered courses and training to numerous organisations in the hotel and restaurant sector including leading hotel schools such as Ecole Hoteliere Lausanne and Glion Institute in the UK and Switzerland. She is the author of the highly acclaimed textbook 'Strategic Management Accounting for the Hospitality, Tourism and Leisure Industries' now available here in 2nd edition. The third edition is to be published by Goodfellow Publishing in 2022.
She has recently been appointed as Trustee and Member of the Supervisory Board at the Institute of Hospitality.
